Welcome to the Apothecary! I would like to give you a little information about myself and how I came to create Simple Alchemy. 

My name is Michele and by profession, I'm a Microbiologist. I graduated from Louisiana State University in 2001 with a BS in Clincal Science and spent 14 years working for the Office of Public Health, doing a variety of different things such as Milk and Dairy regulatory microbiological testing, Rabies testing, testing for select agents, water microbial testing and STD testing. Our lab closed in 2015 and I went on to laboratory management.    

The story behind Simple Alchemy is rather interesting. I have made and used herbal medicine for years but it was only for myself, my family and friends. In 2020 when the covid craze was just beginning, I started getting emails, texts and facebook messages from people asking what they could do to keep from getting covid. Being a Microbiologist for 20+ years, people knew that I could help inform them about viruses. I told them that the most important thing is to keep your body healthy and your immune system strong and you should be fine, even if you did happen to get covid. I recommended that they take herbals that will help with those things. People were scared and they didn't know what was going on so the questions kept coming. What do I take? Where do I get it? Is this product good? So I finally decided to share the contents of our home apothecary with our friends in hopes that they would benefit from a naturalistic way of life and from there it just kept growing! I am thrilled that people want to use natural, plant derived products instead of harmful, toxic chemical drugs and Simple Alchemy strives to not only provide those products but to also educate people. We offer a monthly newsletter that provides information on a different plant each month. We hope that you will take the information in the newsletter and expand your knowledge furthur by doing your own deep dive into the world of medicinal plants!

Simple Alchemy Apothecary was created specifically to provide herbal products and natural alternatives to the toxic, chemically contaminated products available out there today.  

In the past few years, I decided to get a "formal" herbal education so that I could produce the best, most potent herbal formulas possible so I enrolled at the Herbal Academy where I pursued my diploma in Herbal Formulation. This 2 year, in depth dive into herbal formulations helped me learn how to combine herbs in order to more fully enlist the synergy of the plants that I work with. At the same time I also completed a certification in Natural Holistic Medicine from the Hyamson Institute. 
I also pop into a lot of continuing education courses so I can continue to learn from a variety of herbalists!
